Olympics in 2148 OPENING CEREMONIES (LIMA BEANS)
Is a book by Peter Spyros Goudas The Prime Minister, the Head of the Olympic Committee, and the Head of Athletic Committee along with members of the cabinet are in a meeting in a small boardroom, in the city of (Salaguya, the Capital of Malaguya) (R) Peter Spyros Goudas. The Prime Minister states that the 2008 Olympics in Beijing were very good with 2,008 participants in the Opening Ceremonies. Imagine, 2,008 drummers, performing in precision timing and hundreds of athletes as part of their team. Imagine further, someone thinking if it is possible to see something of this stature ever again. Could another country have a better opening than this? Well, I do not think so! However, the Olympics will continue. Eventually, sometime in the future, maybe in the year 2148, a very small country may have the privilege of hosting the event. Get ready to laugh. Send a comment to Goudas
In 1865, the first two stanzas officially became the national anthem of Greece and later also that of the Republic of Cyprus.
The hymn was set to music in 1865 by the Corfiot operatic composer Nikolaos Mantzaros, who composed two choral versions, a long one for the whole poem and a short one for the first two stanzas; the latter is the one adopted as the National Anthem of Greece.

LEFTERIS PAPADOPOULOS (in Greek Λευτέρης Παπαδόπουλος )
was BORN IN ANO PATISIA ATHENS, GREECE.
In the video that follows in PART 2 AT 6.48 into the song, he mentions that he was dreaming of going to Jamaica.
Obviously, this song was written some years ago and at one point and time, my Jamaican producer heard the word Jamaica in the song and asked for an explanation of why this Greek singer mentioned Jamaica in his song.
When we finally explained to him the meaning of the song, he was surprised that the writer gives so much credit to Jamaica as a country to dream of.
He then played the song on our Caribbean Radio Station with the explanation in English that even Greeks with the most beautiful country in the world are dreaming of going to Jamaica.
Of course, Lefteris Papadopoulos' name was mentioned several times throughout the song.
I would like to make a parenthesis here to mention that the general public, especially the new generation, although they know his songs, they mostly give credit to the singers or to the musicians which they mention by name.
They do not really know the man behind that huge repertoire and the creator of the most beautiful songs that Greeks have enjoyed for the last fifty or more years, and who knows, of how many years to come.
I have incorporated several links for the general public to become acquainted with this great Greek man.

Skiathos, Greece - Beaches
Skiathos, even though it is the smallest island of the Sporades chain, is the most cosmopolitan.
With a surface area of about 50km², the island is inhabited by approximately 6,200 people.
Due to its position, only two hours away from Volos by ferry, it is the most crowded and tourist island of the cluster. Package tourists from Europe and wealthy visitors from all over the world come to Skiathos in summer.
Holidays in Skiathos are ideal for those who love the nightlife, shopping, crowded beaches, and entertainment. However, the island has managed to keep its authenticity and it can still offer an alternative way of spending your holidays. Picturesque walks, few quiet beaches, an interesting landscape and the lovely town of the island are the way.

The Greeks: Crucible of Civilization
It was perhaps the most spectacular flourishing of imagination and achievement in recorded history. In the Fourth and Fifth Centuries BC, the Greeks built an empire that stretched across the Mediterranean from Asia to Spain. They laid the foundations of modern science, politics, warfare, and philosophy, and produced some of the most breathtaking art and architecture the world has ever seen.

A Greek force of approximately 7,000 men marched north to block the pass in the summer of 480 BC. The Persian army, alleged by the ancient sources to have numbered over one million but today considered to have been much smaller (various figures are given by scholars ranging between about 100,000 and 150,000),[7][8] arrived at the pass in late August or early September.

Paros History Paros has been inhabited since at least 4000BC. It started flourishing around 3000BC, and all over the Cyclades, the Parian marble can be found from this time. The island was then called Minoa which indicates that the island's civilization was Minoan (Cretan) then. Later on, the Parian marble was to be used in Delphi, Delos, and the temple of Poseidon in Sounio.

Amazing waterfalls of Edessa
by Mareike, If you happen to go to Edessa do not miss going up to the mountain of Voras (formerly called Kaimaktsalan). It's beautiful in the summertime, but in winter it simply is amazing, especially if it has been snowing.
There is a ski center on the top, but since I'm not really a fan of skiing, what I enjoyed most was the view of the snowy mountain and also the view of the lowlands from up there.
From so far up, you might even get the chance to look above the clouds as we did!
ITHAKI
When Odysseus set off for glorious days in Troy, his beloved wife, Penelope, was left alone to unwittingly excite the appetite of men for a gorgeous queen.
Before long, the palace was brimful of odious suitors who would flirt with the queen persistently. What is more, they made Penelope promise she would marry one of them. To keep them at bay, she came up with a device: she promised she would come to a wedding with the best of them when she would have finished weaving a shroud.
So, she spent the daytime weaving it and the nighttime unweaving it. Thus doing, she managed to stay clear of the suitors for 20 whole years, until Odysseus returned to Ithaca.

Skiathos Island
The closest of the Sporades islands to the Greek mainland, Skiathos is the most accessible island for visitors. With more than 50 beaches and a wide assortment of hotels, restaurants, bars, and clubs, it’s the most popular vacation spot in the Sporades as well. Most people come to Skiathos for the beaches, and there’s a stretch of sand sure to please every visitor.
Southside beaches boast calm waters that make them perfect for swimming and water sports like kayaking and paddleboarding. The windswept shores on the north side of Skiathos offer a less crowded experience. Reachable only by boat, the northern beach of Lalaria is near to several beautiful sea caves well worth exploring.

KYTHNOS ISLAND GREECE
Kythnos is mostly an agricultural island with green valleys and many unspoiled beaches. The island has two main settlements, the village of Messaria, known locally as Chora, and the village of Dryopida, also known as Chorio.
Both villages are notable for their winding and often stepped streets, too narrow for vehicular traffic. The villages are very picturesque but in different architectural styles. Chora has the more-typical flat roofs of the Cyclades, while Dryopida’s rooftops are slanted and tiled.
SERIFOS
Serifos is a small island where tourism is just beginning to really develop. Its main attractions are some excellent beaches and the unspoiled hilltop capital of Hora with its whitewashed buildings. Though small, Hora has most of the services a traveler requires, including hotels and restaurants and at least one bank and grocery store. Smaller villages are scattered around the rest of the island.
Syros Cyclades Greece
One of the smallest islands of the Cyclades and relatively rural outside of the capital Ermoupolis, Syros is a beautiful island off the normal tourist track.
Despite its size, it has the highest population in the Cyclades since Ermoupolis is the legal and administrative center of the archipelago.
It’s a great place to experience authentic Greek island culture.
Naxos - Greece
Naxos, the largest of the Cyclades islands, figures prominently in Greek mythology (it’s the childhood home of Zeus) and also was invaded in the Crusades during the Middle Ages. Some locals still wear traditional clothing on this island that is both mountains and green valleys.
The capital is Naxos City, also known as Chora, which is close to several beaches, including some that allow nude sunbathing. Walking through the old area of Chora ranks high on travelers’ must-do lists Another favorite is the Portara, an archway that remains of a Greek temple to Apollo; sunset is the best time to visit the temple.
Nafplio - Greece
Few cities reflect Greece’s rich and diverse history as well as Nafplio, one of the country’s most elegant and romantic destinations. Located in the heart of the historic Argolis region on the Peloponnese peninsula, Nafplio has deep cultural roots in Ancient Greece and the Venetian period of the 15th and 17th centuries.
It flourished as modern Greece’s first capital in the early 1800s.
The city boasts gorgeous neoclassical mansions, beautiful Venetian architecture, and scenic valleys.
Its landscape is composed of two Venetian castles, Palamidi, and Acronafplia, built on two successive hills. Not to be missed, the small fortress of Bourtzi in the Argolic Gulf, a short ferry ride from the city, offers unique views over Nafplio and an ideal setting for romantic getaways.
