On October 20th 2019., Miss West Indian Canadian held its 10th annual pageant at the
Toronto Grand Convention Centre and featured the top 10 delegates of 38 applicants.

Emily Singh took part in the 10th annual Miss West Indian Canadian pageant and won!

She is of Guyanese heritage and her platform is the underprivileged children in Guyana.

Emily will start fundraising for her platform for her cause.

She in her second- year of Journalism also pursuing a double minor in Criminology and English. 
Emily hopes to work in broadcast in the near future on CP24. 

She enjoys acting, dancing, and public speaking. For her talent, she danced to Dhoom Tana and Aaja Nachle, a strong Bollywood medley that had the crowd going wild.

The winner of this historical event is Emily Singh.

In the evening gown portion, she modeled an emerald green, mermaid gown. 

Emily is determined to make a difference. She is still overwhelmed by her win and the outpouring of love and support but she says she plans to make the most of her year beginning with her platform.

“My platform is underprivileged children in Guyana.

I have visited Guyana many times and I have witnessed the justice facing children.

Being able to give back to Guyana is very important to me because I feel as though poverty in Guyana is overlooked. So in my year of reign, I plan to implement programs that will help children in Guyana have a more positive future,” said Singh.
