IMO:Barbara Walters asks the questions Lucy kinda steered away from up until this point of her career on TV (post-I Love Lucy) Some say Lucy was uncomfortable with discussing her past life with her current husband, as she wanted to respect the present joys they had in their successful marriage, and giving it its own identity-It's definately interesting to see Lucy almost go ham on Barbara about her first marriage and tell the TRUTH of how it was, and why it didnt work.
Barbara is wonderful and friendly but asks those GOOD questions you've always wanted to know :) Id love to see an unedited version come out one day, as this is the only known full footage besides that shown on the original air date. lekkki1 This woman re-wrote television history, comedy history, popular radio and a lot of other things. We also have her to thank for Star Trek.

(She was a studio executive/owner and producer of huge import in Hollywood).

The fact that she didn't explode in fame and popularity until she was almost forty is also amazing.

She was way before my time, but I have all of her cd's I can find. She is a national treasure and deserves all the accolades she gets.She was also an excellent Mom and very protective of her children.

Although she dumped Desi, they remained extremely close throughout their lives. Desi regretted losing her to end of his life.

Despite her massive fame, she remained very private and reserved from the insanity of celebrity culture. She also worked harder in one day than most of us work in a month.

Wish we had that kind of talent nowadays. Kudos to an exceptional talent and a very funny woman. Your awesomeness will shine forever.

wlhardy Thanks for this wonderful documentary. I've been watching "I Love Lucy" since 1970 when I first saw it reruns and from then until now, no matter where I lived, it was showing on a local network & I never missed an episode (the only exception was when I lived in Spain for 2 years).

If the show was broadcast in the middle of the night, I taped it (once I had a VCR). I still watch it today at 6:30 a.m. on MeTV. I have the first 5 seasons on DVD, some of the episodes are on Amazon Prime, I watch them all & NEVER time of them.

"I Love Lucy" is, IMO, the greatest sitcom ever made & Lucille Ball was one of the greatest comedic actresses ever. All the work that she did in movies & radio from 1931-1951 was simply preparation for what she was meant to do: break ground in television and be seen/loved by millions of people all over the world forever. Desi, Vivian, and Bill were also perfect for their roles. LOVE LIVE LUCILLE BALL!

D Stuart There is oerhaps no bigger fan than I am. I have the first three seasons of ILL and watched each one probably 20 times-they were the best years-so fresh. I was in a terrible depression some years ago and I swear the woman saved me from killing myself. This show is classy-Incredible editing here-bless editors, they are so underrated

Red Coat Lucy was equivalent to Chaplin, a brilliant hard working, beautiful and multi-talented genius who invented the tv sitcom. Fantastic, hilarious and wonderful she is legend pure! It takes however a constellation for the star to shine bright and the great Desi Arnaz had to be there too, also a brilliant comic actor, entertainer, singer, dancer, producer and show maker with unending energy.

Tana S I always thought "I Love Lucy" was the funniest show i ever watched as a kid. Lucille Ball playing off Desi Arnaz was the perfect match. There will never be a more naturally funny woman like her. I miss all of the antics the Ricardo's got into with the Mertze's, Old television was funny, clean, and well written.
The modern age could learn something from the 50's and 60's. You can do comedy without being vulgar or using profanity. I miss that type of comedy. May Lucille and Desi Arnaz rest in peace, making the angels laugh in heaven.
