News reporter catches auto repair shops!

NOT IN SOS AUTO REPAIR

icutemallνια  If this is the auto industry, imagine the healthcare industry!

Joseph Bentley  Lol $85 for a fuse and $50 for a pcv? That's robbery

Gabriella faks  Your doctor rips you off worse than any of these repair shops

Voodoo8648  I'm sad to say that I have had to become MY OWN mechanic, accountant, mortgage broker, real estate agent, plumber, an electrician... NOBODY will do the work right... no matter how much I pay. this is a reality in today's world

Wanna Know  It's pretty sad the typical shop is just out to take advantage of the customer.

What really ticks me off are the jerk mechanics who purposely damage cars and send you on your way. By damage, I mean cutting and slicing CV axle boots, tie rod end boots and parts that are difficult to determine when damage occurs.
Are they thinking you'll come back to have the damage repaired by them?? Shame on those who practice those tactics.

Andrey Shumylo  I am a shop owner and I believe the owners/ operators like that have to be prosecuted.. what they did with the air filter just makes my blood boil!!!

natasha sheehy  I've been in this position. Took my car in to have the tracking done to be told that they couldn't do the tracking as it needed new wishbones, at a cost of nearly £250.

Well, what they didn't know was, I personally, had replaced both those and the ball joints two months prior to them telling me this. I just laughed at them and told them that under no circumstance would they need replacing.
Took my car to another garage to double check the wishbones (as it always puts doubt in your mind) and not a single fault was found with them.
I logged a complaint with the first garage who gave me all the excuses under the sun but eventually caved, apologized, did my tracking for free and also threw in two brand new tires for my inconvenience. Win-win.

Gigi soglamorousipeeglitter  My husband owns an auto shop. He's a master certified tech.

Well known in our community for his integrity and honesty. We get people almost every day who have been ripped off by a previous auto shop.
My husband constantly has to give them bad news about how work was not really performed on their vehicle. He will literally take a customer under a car, if necessary to show them and explain in detail. It's, unfortunately, a huge problem.
Women do get screwed over more than men. Sad fact.

CryptoCurrency Line  You could do the same video by walking into doctors offices.

Justin   Dealerships are the worst. I worked at one, and the service advisor was fired for not up-selling enough. One of the best things you can do is follow the manual that comes with your car for time change requirements.
Learn basic things like checking your own oil, tire pressure and air filter.

Ramone Bills  To change a $4 fuse, it should not cost $85!!!! My dad had a similar fuse problem and only had to pay literally 5 bucks for a fuse; it is the very first thing that should be diagnosed!!! Don't go to any garage that gives commission... Just go to a small garage.....
The mechanics from a bigger garage just want their commission when they sell more parts.
Better yet, just have a mechanic that is a friend of yours to look at it.
You won't have to pay $90/hr labor anymore; more like $40/hr and you won't get oversold anything.I had an exhaust rattling noise that just happened to be a loose clamp on the flex pipe... I had a friend look at it and easily spotted the loose clamp(took him 30 seconds).

Had one in his garage and literally just charged me 5 bucks for the diagnosis and repair; cut and dry!!!! I found some other garages to be really cool too... Just don't go to the commissioned garages!!! A lot of good mechanics care about people and their money... Last time I had a problem with my car, I had a brake fluid leak... One mechanic told me that if he has to start changing brake lines it might be up to $500-600CAD... I ended up getting charged $85 CAD!!! Find trusted mechanics in your city and it shouldn't even be that hard to find.

ryan0348  these mechanics should be fired and disallowed to work as mechanics anymore, they should also receive jail time

The Adventures Of ButterBall The Opossum ! This is terrifying. They should get one warning and then be barred for life

genmaxpain  that shit %100 doesn't happen in New Zealand there is no need to rip women off here why bother lol in saying that we KIWI's are down to earth honest people we are wanted all over the world the best at just about everything even though we have 4.7 million people(very few people) are great at just about everything per population/per capita in 4.7 million people we have more gangs
According to the book Gangs by Ross Kemp, New Zealand has more gangs per head than any other country in the world, with about seventy major gangs and over 4,000 patched members[4] in a population of 4 million people.
there are over 300 gangs in total in only 4.7 million people nobody messes with anybody unless you want your head beaten in lol everybody knows somebody that is in a gang in nz haha and no guns , police have no guns(only tasers and batons) been in the auto trade for over 25 years and in few different garages/workshops never have i seen any woman ripped off

Doorguru  Well, if any of you who are crying about dishonesty in the auto repair fieldwork in the medical field you are calling the kettle black. The same amount of ripping off goes on there. Basically a license to steal by not all, but probably the majority.

Javier Rosales   That mechanic was sexy, and she works on cars and not afraid to get her Hands dirty I would marry her fast.
